How the Rawdah permit actually works

The Rawdah booking sits inside the Nusuk app, opens on a rolling window and fills within minutes. This is the process we walk every group through.

Visiting the Rawdah is the part of a Madinah trip that people worry about most, largely because the process changed and the old advice is still circulating. The permit is free, it is issued through the Nusuk app, and it is tied to your passport rather than to your hotel or your agency.

The booking window

Slots are released on a rolling basis, usually around ten days ahead. Popular times go quickly, and the app will not show you a slot it cannot honour. If nothing appears for your dates, check again in the early hours rather than assuming it is closed.

  • Register in Nusuk as soon as your visa is issued
  • Add every traveller in the family under one account where they are on the same booking
  • Choose a slot at least a day after your arrival, so a delayed flight does not waste it
  • Screenshot the permit, since the mosque entrances check it and the network there is unreliable

If your slot is missed

A missed slot cannot be rescheduled from inside the same window, but you can apply again for a later date while you are still in Madinah. Our coordinator does this for anyone in the group who misses theirs, which is usually one or two people on a fourteen-day trip.

Women's visiting hours are separate and shift during Ramadan. We confirm the current timetable on arrival rather than publishing it here, because it has changed twice in the last year.
